Took me straight back to my childhood
This was really fun to build and I love the choice of games, personally I went for Zelda over mario and the set it beautiful however I do think it is a big expensive for the number of pieces but i would recommend.

Nostalgia overload
Got this for my birthday. The original Game Boy was my first handheld console. Attached photos show how impressive the design from Lego is. It has clicky buttons and movable volume/contrast wheels. You can insert/remove the 2 games and has 3 changeable screens which are lenticular (which is also classic 90s nostalgia) . I think I spent 2.5 hours building it using the lego android app but also comes with a paper manual. Not suitable for young children due to the small parts does say 18+ on the box but older children would be fine. I see people online are doing mods to make it functional but turning on my old Game Boy made me realise how bad the screen was back then. If modders wanted to keep it real there would be no backlight the 3 supplied swap-able screen plates do simulate it well but the original screen is worse again. I think this is best kept as a display piece for the shelf or my desk and can make me smile when I look at it. It has a similar weight and feel to the original Game Boy and I would recommend it to any fans of the original.

Looks like a real one !
This was small build compared to my normal purchases , but I still found it entertaining and interesting . and importantly enjoyable ! Very impressed with the finished product and when I showed my wife she thought it was an actual Game Boy ! , like the extra game cartridge and that you can change the "screens" if you want to I think for a small set this is really good , and good value in my eyes , it now proudly sits alongside my larger Nintendo and Atari and Pac Man builds
