The hairdryer is great and the brushes, but personally the curler/airwrap feature didn’t work well for me. I have thick hair that usually holds a curl well but the curls had fallen out by the time I had moved on to the other side of my head even after trying all sorts of mousse, styling products and pin curls.

I’ve been using the Shark FlexStyle for a few weeks now, and honestly, I didn’t expect to like it as much as I do. I’ve always been a bit sceptical of these all-in-one stylers because they tend to promise the world and then behave like a regular hair dryer in disguise, but this one actually feels different. The first thing I noticed was how light it is. I’ve had bulkier dryers that made me feel like I was doing a shoulder workout every morning, but the FlexStyle is surprisingly easy to hold, even when I’m trying to curl the back sections of my hair. It switches from dryer to curler mode with a quick twist, which sounds like a gimmick but genuinely saves time when I’m rushing. The five attachments are what sold me. The auto-wrap curlers are the standout — they’re not perfect, but they grip the hair well enough that even someone with my questionable styling skills can produce decent curls. They look more natural than the ultra-polished curls you get from a wand, which I prefer. The paddle brush attachment is another favourite; it gives that smooth, blow-dry look without having to wrestle with a round brush and dryer at the same time. Heat-wise, it’s gentler than most dryers I’ve owned. I have fine hair that frizzes easily, so anything too hot just ruins it. With this, my hair dries quickly without feeling fried, and the cool shot actually cools — not just “slightly less warm,” like other dryers pretend to be. If I had to complain about something, I’d say there’s a bit of a learning curve with the curlers. The first two days were… humbling. It’s not quite a Dyson experience (and honestly, I’m not sure I’d want it to be), but once you get the angle right, it clicks. Also, the storage case is nice, but it’s definitely more suited for keeping everything neat on a shelf rather than travelling with it — it’s a bit bulky. Overall, though? It’s a brilliant bit of kit for the price. It cuts down my getting-ready time, makes my hair look more polished with less effort, and doesn’t roast my scalp. If you want something that gives you options — curls, smooth blow-outs, fast drying — without spending silly money, the Shark FlexStyle is genuinely worth it.
