Fabulous replacement for my original Switch, whose battery has finally given up after years of great use. Noticeably improved screen. Love the new controllers - feel more robust. Small details such as being able to connect via charging cable at top or bottom of device really clever.

Dream Console
New Nintendo Switch 2, sounds so exquisite and finally I after getting to purchase this I am so happy with my decision, I am personally biased for handheld consoles and switch 2 is something more than that. My first impression was the screen is more large than it seems in pictures and videos. Also, even the display is not OLED but it looks great still, improved resolution and refresh rate is a plus. And overall box is compact and feels premium and a good experience to unbox. Just if the battery life was more improved it would be a solid deal without any doubt and if there was color option I would choose white like OG Switch OLED.

Not full compatible, but a good console
I brought this a while ago for a game that recently came out, just to find out that the docking station does not correctly work when trying to display the switch onto a TV. The HMDI does not work, no matter the advice I follow. Still works perfectly fine handheld though.

Bad Returns Policy From Argos....
Item is fine but on buying the nintendo switch 2 we got the item home only to find out that the switch is not compatible with You Tube, So ended up buying a galaxy tablet 11+. Taking it back a day later I was told it can't be returned as the box had been opened... left Argos fuming...This is the last time I will be shopping at Argos.. Next time I Will go to Amazon, they wouldn't treat you like this.. Now I am stuck with a £385 console... Shame on you Argos!!!! Don't buy electrical items from Argos you cannot return them unless they are faulty...Be Warned!!!!

Both the original switch and switch 2 connect to the tv using HDMI, so in that sense they are the same.
However there are some technical differences so the cables themselves are not interchangeable.

Yes, if you own a digital copy of a switch 1 game then you can download it on switch 2 by logging in on the same account.
You can also do a 1-time transfer of all your currently downloaded games and save data from the switch 1 to 2.
Note that as per Nintendos help pages there are a handful ofnswitch 1 games which do not work on switch 2. There are also some which cannot have their save data transferred from one console to another, but the game itself can be transferred.
