It should be possible to get this mattress up even a narrow staircase. It will allow for some manipulation.
Thanks for using Argos Q&A
The mattress is made from Eco Comfort fibres, these are cotton & polyesters made from recycled plastic bottles.
Thanks for using Argos Q&A
Silentnight Mattresses are tested up to 32 stones. This is a firm feel mattress so is arguably the most suitable for your needs. However, I would recommend for maximum comfort and support that the mattress be used with a solid platform top Divan Base rather than a wooden slatted bedframe
There are no handles on this mattress
Both have a similar feel as both are rated as firm comfort mattresses. All silentnight mattresses are tested to support up to 32 stones/203kg in weight. As a double option the travis weighs 16.5kg and the mckenna ortho weighs 20.5kg
You need only rotate head to toe rather than turn over.
Thanks for your query about the Silentnight McKenna Miracoil 3 Ortho Double Mattress.
The delivery timescale is roughly 14 days but, when you place an order, a more accurate timescale and earliest available dates and slot will be offered to you at that point.
You can return the bed for a refund if it’s not suitable within 30 days as long as it’s unused and returned in original packaging as it was when delivered. (The mattress would still need to have the plastic covering over it).
This is not a pocket sprung mattress. It features the patented Silentnight Miracoil spring system that offers zoned and responsive support where your body needs it the most.
I have contacted the suppliers directly to which they responded:
''The depth of the Silentnight Mckenna Miracoil Ortho mattress is indeed approximately 26cm. Usually, the reason for any discrepancy between our stated measurement and the customer's measurement is that the customer is using the incorrect method of measuring (although there is a standard tolerance of + or - 1 cm).
There is actually a British Standard describing how to measure the height of a mattress which we use to measure all our mattresses; BS EN 1334:1996 Domestic Furniture - Beds & mattresses, methods of measurement and recommended tolerances.
Basically, an aluminium bar of a given size/weight is placed across two diagonally opposite corners of a mattress whilst the mattress is placed on a level floor. The distance between the bar & floor is measured at the two corners & the average height is expressed. The customer will usually measure in between the tape edging which is always going to be less as the total mattress height is greater in the sleeping area compared to the taped perimeter area.
Apologies for the delay in replying but I hope that this answers your query.''
Thanks for using Q&A.
How are you measuring the depth? If you are measuring the distance between the top and bottom tape, then that could explain the difference. Mattress depths, as per British Standard guidelines, are measured from the bottom of the mattress, positioned on a flat surface to the very top of the highest point of the surface fabric. I have now checked the depths of both products and can confirm that the Middleton Mattress is 26cm deep and is advertised correctly by Argos. The McKenna is 24cm deep so the detail is incorrect on the Argos site and will be amended immediately. Apologies for any inconvenience caused in this instance.
I'm not sure I understand this question or the information that you need.
The mattress has a comfort rating of Extra Firm and is issued after testing under British Standard guidelines.
It is a very firm mattress
