Gave this a 4 star purely because, had it had a lid it would have been perfect. This BBQ is brilliant, really big, easy to put together and was excellent for my garden party of 50 people. You wont be disappointed with this BBQ. Just a shame it does not come with a lid.
The BBQ is great for a large party
The BBQ as straightforward to assemble and fires and cooks very well. Excellent for a large party
Brilliant large bbq
Would be better with a lid, I had a BBQ for 50 + and the BBQ was plenty big enough
I have a similar BBQ and coals will fall through the bottom racks as they are wide and only large chunks of charcoal will stay in place. To resolve this I put tinfoil on the coal racks and put the charcoal on this. Works a treat. When done and. Cold fold up and throw the Ash away. Have done this for years. The racks in the drum are for charcoal and the top adjustable grilling racks are for food. If you put coals on the bottom of the drum you will quite quickly burn through the metal base.

The answer from Argos is a load of rubbish...
The lower grills are quite obviously not for cooking... they are to bed coals on to - not that that works!

I also have had no success with this BBQ. I asked the original question ((Chandra). Because after a first unsuccessful BBQ the charcoal fell through the grills. These are the instructions that come with the BBQ as they are called charcoal grills. For 2nd BBQ we took advise from the information given from Argos and put charcoal directly in the drum . Still no success! There is not enough air circulation. I ended up grilling as had a party.

Hi I have this BBQ and have been putting coals at the bottom of the drum, but the picture in the descriptions shows them on the lower rack - please can you confirm where the coals as suppose to be put as so far we have not had any success at BBQing as the coals are so lowdown food takes ages to cook

The charcoals go in the bottom of the drum not on the grills
The grills are for cooking the food
