Don't forget to update
Very pleased with this product. Had to plug in direct to broadband to up as this machine doesn't have wifi. Played a couple of Blu rays, including 3d, and they all worked perfectly.
For the price this is perfect, we have an older tv but I can see an improvement in dvd quality all the same. Very pleased.
Not perfect but for the money cannot be beat
I compared this with several alternatives before buying this one and although others claimed to perform better, the results have been fantastic on this unit. The upscaling as been much better than I expected, although the load times are slow but this is expected when using BluRay discs. I only wish something else could be done about that. Plenty of connections, perhaps the location of the ports could be better but generally i cannot complain too much. It's a great player and I'm very satisfied with my purchase.
No, having checked the user guide (link below) the Panasonic BluRay player does not list any image/picture processing modes (these tend to be available on the TV used for display).

Hi Pete, this item will take a Full HD source (e.g a Blu Ray at 1920*1080) and enlarge the picture to 4K (3840*2160). Since there will be missing detail, it makes an educated guess to fill in the missing detail. That's what upscaling is. Hope this helps. Thanks for using Argos Q + A.

I can confirm that upscaling is the name of the process in which the Blu-ray player enhances the original input quality.
I hope this helps :)
