The TT Cosmo SP Luxe Group 0+/1 Car Seat - Agora Storm Black is suitable from birth to 18kg/40lbs (approx 4 years).
The new born option for the car seat includes additional padding and protection around the head and neck which is usually used up to the baby being approximately 6 months old. The seat would be in a slight recline position too. The padding can then removed but the seat stays in the same position.
The 9 kg information provided refers to the second stage of the car seat when the child is strong enough for the car seat position to be changed.
I hope this information helps and thank you for using Argos Q&A.
