Not bad for the price
Two issues no HDMI cable for price included and the fact you need another cable to connect to your router. I would have thought you could have just entered your wifi code for the price. That a side picture and sound excellent. Nice and small looks ok.
Very happy with my purchase. Although be aware if you are not already that in order to connect the player to the internet a lan cable is required.
Smart tv but NOT wireless
As a blu ray this product is fine but I paid extra to get smart tv. You can't wirelessly connect this to Wi-Fi and the product description fails to declare this. In 2019 who would buy such a product!! This line should be discontinued as it is obsolete
Hello A2n0n0e4, it will only have black bars if it needs to- for example if you're watching an older film in 4:3 aspect ratio. Otherwise it should scale to your TV screen just fine. Thanks for using Argos Q+A.

This will depend on the movie, the TV used for display and the way you have set your TV up to present movies.
If you have a 16:9 TV (wide screen) and the film is presented in a 16:9 aspect then it will fill the screen, other (wider) cinematic ratios will have bars to the top and bottom, whereas the older 4:3 TV broadcast ratio will most likely have bars to the side, this is by design and is intended
Many TV's have 'Aspect Ratio' modes that will try to mask the bars and fill the screen should you prefer this.

it all depends on each individual disc, it depends what the picture format of the disc is , also some times depends on the age of the actual film or the format it was filmed in
