So far so good. We've been using this for around 3 weeks and it's fine. I like the aesthetics but took a little adjusting not to knock my hand on the underside of the handle each time I remove the lid. Minus points for that awkwardness.

Shiny not matte
This kettle was described as matte black, but in fact only the handle is matte black, the rest of the kettle is shiny/gloss black. Other than that it's functional.
