Bought this to use in the nursery that is used when I have my granddaughter, it’s absolutely fantastic my daughter has said it’s better than the £75 baby monitor she has. Camera quality is great with full night vision. Motion detection notifications and person detection notifications. Can pan a full 360 and is mountable 2 way speaker. If you are using it as a security camera you can have an alert sound if motion is detected this is a high pitch sound

You are able to view the live view you would need a internet connection to connect to the Tapo cloud camera to access the live view.

For camera live view, once the camera is set up in the Tapo app and connected to the internet, you can watch it for free (no extra cost).
For camera playback, there are two recording types:
1. Tapo Care Cloud Recordings: Each Tapo Camera offers a one-time 30-day free trial of Tapo Care (starts when enabled in the app), which provides 30-day cloud video history and advanced features. Hi,
Once the camera is connected to the internet and stays online, you can view and control it remotely using cellular data and receive notifications via the Tapo App on your phone or tablet.
Please note that the Tapo app does not provide a direct option to turn the camera on/off, but you can use Privacy Mode. This feature temporarily stops video/audio streaming and recording to protect your privacy.

The Tapo C210 requires Wi-Fi configuration via the app.
If you want to manage and view the camera in the app, the Tapo C210 needs to be constantly connected to Wi-Fi.
If you prefer to record only to the local SD card and don't need to manage or view the recordings in the app, simply configure the camera to a Wi-Fi hotspot, then set the detection and recording settings in the app. Afterward, disconnect the Wi-Fi connection, and your camera will record normally.
If you need to view the detected video, you need to remove the SD card and insert it into a PC, or reconnect the camera to Wi-Fi to make it online again in the app.
Alternatively, you can consider using SIM-enabled cameras such as the Tapo C501GW and Tapo C615G.

I can advise, the camera supports continuous 24/7 recording when a microSD card (up to 512GB) is installed. This feature can be enabled in the Tapo app under the recording settings. Cloud storage and event-based recording are also available, but for uninterrupted footage, local storage via microSD is recommended.
