This is a great simple and basic sewing machine. It has zigzag stitches and a buttonhole guide, but it's very straightforward to use.

I’ve just started a sewing class so didn’t want to spend lots of money incase I didn’t enjoy, my teacher advised this would be a great one for everything I need. It’s lovely and quiet and easy to use. Just wish it had a handle so it was easier to carry to my classes but I would actually really recommend this despite that.

Really Good Introductory Sewing Machine
I bought this a week ago to replace my old machine and have had great fun putting it to use. Having the automatic bobby loader saves so much time and it is is the easiest machine I've had so far to thread both the needle and bobby.

Great beginners machine
I’m a total beginner, inspired by the Sewing Bee. This is a great machine. Lightweight and easy to use. The only downside is the instructions come on a dvd with no paper booklet. This is great for watching but not so much if you need a quick check on how to do something.

Easy to use sewing machine
I bought this machine last month when my old sewing machine packed up on me. It couldn’t have happened at a worse time as I had to alter the dress I’d recently bought for my daughter’s wedding. Usually, I’d go to a shop that sells sewing machines and get a demonstration having done my research beforehand. This time, I didn’t have time for that and looked on Argos, checked the reviews, ordered the Brother LS14 and picked it up a few hours later. Threading and setting the machine up was extremely easy. The sequin fabric on my dress was a challenge but this machine handled it easily and I finished my task quickly . It’s slower than my older machine but that was a blessing with my slippery fabric full of sequins. This machine is basic but perfect for what I want and I’m delighted with my purchase and highly recommend this machine.

Yes, you can sew denim with this sewing machine, but a denim needle (also called a jeans needle) in size 16 (100/16) is recommended for thicker denim. You can also use a universal needle in size 14 (90/14) for midweight denim.
