Not so magic staying power
I was really excited when I was picked to review the Touche Magique concealer for free from L'Oréal, I have been on a mission to find a concealer for quite a while now. I have very pale oily skin and don't sleep a lot so suffer from huge dark bags under my eyes. So I have been looking for a concealer that is both light enough for my pale skin and pigmented enough to cover the dark bags under my eyes. I hoped I had it with this concealer, the colour I was sent was pretty close to my skin colour so I thought I would give it a go straight away. I primed my face and put on my foundation as normal (I always use Doublewear foundation because of my oily skin) I then dabbed the concealer under my eyes in a triangle pattern and blended it in. First impressions were that it worked, my under eyes were much brighter than normal and the concealer was heavily pigmented enough to cover the dark bags. I then set the concealer with my normal finishing powder. Unfortunately that was as good as it got, within 2 hours the concealer had slid off my face with all of the foundation under my eyes aswell. I decided to try using the concealer before my foundation and that was worse, tried to use less and more but had the same result with both. I then tried setting it with a bit more powder but that ended up a hot mess as the concealer ended up congealing with my foundation and powder and going horribly patchy. Unfortunately this product isn't for me, but as I mentioned at the beginning of my review I have very oily skin, I can imagine it would work a lot better for people with dryer skin. Great illuminating concealer
I received my Touche Magique for free from Loreal to try out, and was really pleased with the results. It is easy to put on, easily blends and gives a lovely bright finish. It didn't quite make me look like I'd had 8 hours sleep, but it helped! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Didn't meet expectations
As a busy mum of two it's important to look flawless in minimal time especially covering the dark under eye circles. Whilst the initial effect of the touché magique was Ok I found throughout the day it required reapplying unlike the rest of my make up. That's the only con but it's a big one! But for the pros, it's small, compact and able to fit into your purse (for those reapply emergencies). The coverage was good and the brush application means that the product can be easily applied to all areas of the face. Overall as the product is l'oreal I expect it will carry a hefty price tag and for the size/amount needed daily this could become an expensive part of my daily makeup routine, so for now I think I'll be keeping my eye out for a longer lasting product to match my schedule.
