Still got loads left of my Infallible Liquid Foundation free from L'Oreal Paris. Still getting a good overall base but would still use a different shade for my skin tone [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I was so excited to try the Infallible Liquid Foundation that I received free from L’Oreal Paris. I have often thought small samples should be available from stockists as these products can be expensive and if not suitable, then a total waste of money. Therefore being asked to review this was fab! I chose shade 125 although it was really difficult to know which shade to choose going by images on a screen! I was pleasantly surprised by the bottle/packaging. It is a sturdy pump dispenser with a nice looking finish. The only thing I would improve about this would be a removable pump part so that when you get to the last of the product you can get those last bits that won't quite pump! Looks quite expensive. The pump itself was of good smooth action, not stiff or squeaky like some you can get! The product smells lovely and fresh and it felt nice in consistency on my fingers. However, I was really disappointed when I used it. It felt heavy on my skin and seemed to show every flaw - particularly large pores. The colour match wasn't too bad despite me choosing it from a computer image. The product also had a drying effect on my skin which not only felt like I was dragging the skin when applying, but also enhanced wrinkles! NOT GOOD!! I have normal to dry skin with an oily T-zone. The t-zone coverage would have been ok but this is where I have enlarged pores so the fact it enhanced rather than disguising them was a definite negative for me. It did provide good cover for circles around my eyes although unfortunately this was cancelled out by the drying effect on my skin which somehow seemed to enhance the circles even more if that makes sense! I was extremely excited and couldn't wait to try my Infallible Liquid Foundation free from L’Oreal Paris! To begin with, the packaging is very attractive and professional-looking. The glass bottle and pump dispenser gives the impression it is a more deluxe foundation opposed to a simple squeezy tube, which can get rather messy. I would have liked to see a lockable pump as if I was to carry this around in my handbag and the lid came off, it would be very easy for spillages to occur. Because of this, I would be wary carrying this around. I would also prefer it if I could detach the pump from the bottle, as that comes in handy when you are running out of foundation and you need to scrape those last few bits out! The foundation shade matched as expected. The texture of the foundation is a little more thick than I would usually like. When I spread the foundation across my face, it seems to drag a little bit on the brush, therefore I had to spread the foundation quite quickly as it sets rather quick on the face. However, the coverage of the foundation is lovely as it gives a full, flawless, matte coverage. This was great, as I felt I didn't need to put power over the top of the foundation. It did not cake/clog my pores round the T-zone area, which I often find a problem with most foundations. It even covered my dark circles under my eyes, which definitely earns brownie points! Once on the face, the foundation felt really natural and light. It did not feel heavy or sticky which I sometimes feel with other foundations. It has a fresh, pleasant fragrance, yet not too overpowering. The foundation claims to stay on for 24 hours. However, I personally felt it had a 12-hour life span, as there wasn't much left on my face after my work shift. However, even though I felt it didn't quite live up to the 24-hour life span, it was very long-lasting compared to other foundations on the market and wasn't a problem as I would never want to wear foundation for the full 24 hours anyway! In my opinion, this is a fantastic product. The coverage is definitely the main strength of this product as it gives a very professional, airbrushed look, yet feels really light. I found the main downfall is that it didn't quite last 24 hours and didn't look as much coverage at the end of my work shift as what I began with. A few words to describe Infallible Liquid Foundation by L'Oreal Paris is flawless, matte and great coverage! Overall, I would definitely recommend buying this product and rate it 4 stars as I think it is far better than a many foundations on the market. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
