It is a heated pad that you put on your back or any part that you want to warm.

I have spoken to our suppliers who have advised as follows.
The Surface Temperature limit when set at pre heat is an average of 50 deg C, when set at continuous use setting 1-4 this is Variable and is dependent on the room’s ambient temperature and how the pad is being used, with a limit of 50 deg C.

I wouldn’t say you could sit on it as a cushion. It is not a thick padded article. It would also get very hot. The best way to use it it with a cushion at your back, or on its own lying across your shoulder, for instance.

Yes it could be used across the back of a chair as a thin comfort cushion, you don’t need to turn the heat on.
