The perfect kids' bedroom

The boys' bedroom makeover
Family blogger and YouTube vlogger Alex Gladwin shares how she gave her son's room a fresh new look.
Creating a room to last
Design a space that will grow with your child
As part of a recent extension and renovation project, my son Ethan has a new room that’s a lot bigger. Redecorating gave us the perfect opportunity to create a bright, practical space that is perfect for him now, but will also grow and evolve with him over the years.
Inject personality by mixing & matching themes
I didn't really set out with a theme for Ethan's bedroom, but he loves Star Wars and Lego – showcasing his favourite toys reflects him and his personality.
Encourage creativity with a multi-purpose desk
We were always going to make sure that Ethan had a desk in his room. He is such a creative child and loves nothing more than creating models, drawing pictures, colouring, crafting and writing in his notebook. This New Pagnell Desk is absolutely perfect for him - it has 3 handy drawers to keep all of his stationery and crafty materials organised.
Choose matching furniture for a timeless look
We love the New Pagnell range so much that we decided to complete the look with the matching chest of drawers and wardrobe. What I like the most about this range are the cut-out handles, which give all the pieces a really modern look. I know all of the furniture will last from now until Ethan’s in his teens.
Declutter with practical storage solutions
The inside of the wardrobe is so spacious and well-designed, with a combination of drawers, shelves and a rail to accommodate all his toys, books, and extra bits and pieces. We’ve also used the Set of 3 Storage Boxes with Lids to stash away more games and toys – they keep everything tidy but within easy reach.
Add fun splashes of colour with accessories
I love the splash of colour that Ethan's new wall clock brings to his room. It features easy to read numbers, colours that break up the different time sections, and labels on the hour and minute hands to help him to learn how to tell the time. As soon as I saw it I knew it was the perfect choice of clock for his room.
