Hosting extra guests

Making your guests feel at home
Follow blogger Jamie Rockers' top tips for adding cosy and comfortable finishing touches to your space.
Invest in multi-purpose soft furnishings
Use rugs for increased seating space
A rug can make all the difference to a room! I’ve always wanted a really cosy, shaggy rug, and I love the Bliss Rug in Cream. As well as making the guest room feel more comfortable, it also creates a space where you can actually sit on the floor. This is perfect if you live in a small home and don’t have much room for guests to sit down and relax.
Maximise storage with a multipurpose ottoman
An ottoman is perfect for storing extra bedding for guests. It’s chic and can also double as a seat. Here you can store bedding and cushions easily, reducing additional clutter around the flat. Out of sight, out of mind, I say! Grey is on trend but neutral, and it folds flat if you ever need to stash it away.
Combine style with convenience for stress-free hosting
No more fighting over the bathroom mirror
We all need to get ready in the morning - if there’s only one bathroom it can get a bit tricky. The solution? An extra mirror, of course. A freestanding mirror looks great and you can easily move it to another location if you wish. If guests are sleeping on a sofa bed, you can easily move this mirror to the living room for a mini dressing area.
Add flair to neutral rooms
A statement chair can light up a whole room and it’s a lovely addition to the corner of a guest room. It can change the whole atmosphere of a room and the Fabric Tub Chair in Teal is the perfect pop of colour to a neutral room. Teal is the colour of the moment, after all! The tub style means it’s especially nice for guests to relax in.
Create an atmosphere with lighting
When hosting guests, you also want to create space for them to chill out at the end of the day. The Curva Floor Lamp in Copper is perfect for creating a soft light in a guest room, but strong enough for guests to read or get online. Copper accents add a nice, fresh modern look to any room and a long, slim lamp doesn’t take up much room.
Stylish and practical finishing touches
One last essential: a small table for guests to put their phones, books, or other small personal items on before bed. I absolutely love the Midnight Opulence End Table in Bronze. The smoked black glass marble effect top is gorgeous– fresh flowers give it just the finishing touch you need! A stylish and practical space-saving gem.
