What about consoles?

Xbox Project Scarlett

Microsoft blew our minds a little bit with a big surprise at their E3 2019 conference: an introduction to the next Xbox, Project Scarlett. Details are yet to be revealed, however we do have a release window: "Holiday 2020". Not only will the console launch then, but Microsoft have also announced that Halo Infinite will be the launch title.

Tech-wise, they promise a bigger leap with this generation than ever before, 4 times more powerful than the Xbox One X processing-wise, thanks to AMD’s Zen 2 and Navi technology. They've also said that Project Scarlett will "usher in resolution and frame-rates that we've never seen before", support 8K capability and will have a new generation SSD. The new console will have an optical disk drive, so you can grow your physical library of games if you wish.

So what does that mean for gamers? The reveal trailer suggests a more immersive experience with less load times and seamless exploration, and for game developers, the power to build the game they've always wanted. Watch this space.
