HP PAVILION X360 CELERON NOTEBOOK

HP have identified an issue with some HP batteries whereby they have the potential to overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard to customers.
We've identified that the following two HP Pavilion models sold from December 2015 through December 2017 have been affected:

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

It is essential to check your battery. Please go immediately to the HP Battery Recall website at //www.hp.com/go/batteryprogram2018 to check if your battery is affected by this expanded recall program.
Please note that these batteries are internal to the systems, which means they are not customer replaceable. Customers should not remove them on their own. HP will provide battery replacement services by an authorised technician for each potentially affected battery at no cost. Please visit their HP Battery Recall website for further information.

CAN I CONTINUE TO USE MY PRODUCT?

HP has developed a BIOS update for customers whose battery is affected by this recall program that will put the battery into "Battery Safety Mode". Customers should discontinue use of batteries affected by this recall program immediately by placing it in Battery Safety Mode. Once the battery is put into Safety Mode, customers may continue to safely use their notebook or mobile workstation by connecting to an HP power adaptor. Visit the HP Battery Recall website for information on the BIOS update.

The affected product was sold between October and November 2016
We have identified a potential safety issue with the mains power adaptor on the above product.

A manufacturing fault has been identified where in certain circumstances the mains power pack may pose a risk of electric shock.

There have been no reported incidents, however, as a responsible retailer Argos takes customer safety extremely seriously, and are therefore issuing this safety notice as a precautionary measure.

Amazon Fire 7" and UK Fire Kids Edition 7"

Notice added 25th October 2016
Amazon have determined that, in rare cases, when the power adapter included with the UK Fire 7" and UK Fire Kids Edition 7" tablet is pulled from the wall socket, the adapter assembly may detach and create a risk of electrical shock. Affected adapters were sold only in the United Kingdom and Ireland from September 2015.

We have become aware of a potential safety issue on selected HP Notebook Computer Batteries.

Alba Tablets - Main Adapter - DXDH10N – 447/8975, 439/0967, 297/7533

A safety issue has been identified with three Alba branded tablets.
1. Alba 7 Inch 8GB tablet sold from July 2015 to March 2016 (Cat Number 447/8975)
2. Alba 8 Inch 8GB tablet sold from Oct 2015 to March 2016 (Cat Number 439/0967)
3. Alba 10 Inch 16GB tablets sold from Oct 2015 to March 2016 (Cat Number 297/7533)

There is a possibility that the 3 pin mains adapter could detach when plugged into the mains and pose a risk of electrical shock.

It is important for customers to stop using the plug IMMEDIATELY, and use the contact details below to obtain a replacement 3 pin attachment.

AC Power Cords for HP and Compaq Notebook and mini Notebook computers

On August 26, 2014 HP announced a worldwide voluntary recall and replacement programme in cooperation with various government regulatory agencies. Certain power cords shipped with HP and Compaq notebook and mini notebook computers, as well as with AC adapters provided with accessories such as docking stations, sold from September 2010 through June 2012 may pose a potential fire and burn hazard to customers.
HP customers will receive a replacement AC power cord for each verified, recalled AC power cord at no cost.

Not all HP and Compaq notebook and mini notebook PCs were sold with an affected power cord. Please validate the power cord shipped with your notebook PC or purchased with an accessory, or as a spare.

1. Immediately stop using your AC power cord.

TomTom GPS positioning software issue – Catalogue Number 5042771, 5043660, 5042881, 5043938, 5043763, 5043770, 5043488, 5043787, 5043794

We are aware that some customers have been experiencing GPS positioning issues since 31st March. The issue is caused by a 'leap year' bug in the software of the GPS receiver which is provided by a third party. TomTom has released a new software update to solve the GPS reception issue on impacted consumer devices.
Impacted devices are: Start 20/25, Via 110/120/125, Via LIVE 120/125, GO LIVE 820/825, GO LIVE 1000/1005/1005 World.

We have been made aware of a potential safety fault in QS722 power adapter. The adapter may split in half leading to access to live parts.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

If you have the power adapter circled in red with the two screws design Please stop using it immediately and return the product to your nearest Argos store for a replacement.

If you have the power adapter circled in green then your item is fine.
