Cleaning up after your dog is a quicker and more pleasant task with the right tools. A long-handled scoop keeps mess at arm's length – plus your back will thank you for bending over less. Puppy pads are helpful when you're house training your young dog. Position it near the back door and they'll soon learn to let you know when they need to go out. A roll of bags is as essential as a dog lead when going for walkies.
You can keep their feeding area clean with a wipeable, plastic floor protector beneath their dog bowls. A washable soft dog bed can be freshened up in the machine. Plastic beds can be wiped clean if they get covered in muddy paw prints. Fleeces and blankets you use to line their cages can also be popped into the wash.
Keeping other pets' environments clean is important for their health, too. Fish tanks need regular cleaning to keep the water fresh. Most cat beds are machine washable and have removable inner pads. Add an absorbent carpet beneath the cat flap to dry out wet paws as your cat enters the house.
