A decent changing mat is a must have for any parent. They make changing times simple and are especially useful for when you’re out and about and may have to change your child in a public changing facility or in the park. They’re great at home and can be paired with changing tables to save your back. Having your baby at a height that means you don’t have to bend over and kneel down, which can be a life changer when you’re changing nappies ten times a day.
If you’re fed up of bunging so many nappies into landfill, reusable nappies are better for the environment. Their biodegradable liners break down easily and have less chemicals in the material of the nappy than disposables, so they’re kinder to sensitive baby skin. Whether you go for reusable or disposables, you’ll still want a nappy bin to keep a lid on odours. Modern nappy bins contain anti-bacterial liners to reduce smells and bacteria, locking away odour until you’re ready to dispose of the contents. Eventually your child will being potty training and having a baby potty about, even when they’re not quite ready to use it, will help in the transition. They can pretend to use it and get comfortable with sitting and standing up from it and before you know it, they’ll be ready to start using it and then nappies eventually become a thing of the past.
Along with changing nappies another common parental activity is bath times. We’ve got a range of baby bath tubs, from simple plastic tubs, to collapsible models that save on space and baby baths with built in thermometers and scales. Add in a bath toy or two and you’ll be able to get baby clean while they have some fun.
And when bath time is done, pop them into a baby sleepsuit and you’ll be ready to settle them down for a good night’s sleep, for them and you!
