How our gift list service works
We are sorry to announce that the Argos Gift List Service will be closing in September 2012. Sadly this means that you are now no longer able to set up a new gift list with us. However, if you already have an Argos gift list you will still be able to amend it and your friends and family will still be able to buy from it, until we close the service down. We will contact the list holder directly to confirm this and explain what they need to do next. If you would like further information, please contact the gift service team.
Until we close the service, the following will still be available to you:
- Keep an eye on your list online, see what has been bought or add extra items if you want to. There's always that extra frivolous item that you may need or want!
- Choose from 1000s of great gift ideas - the great range of gifts Argos stocks gives your friends and family flexibility on the amount they spend
- Friends and family can view your list online or obtain a copy in any Argos store - they just need to quote your reference number.
- Gifts can be bought online, over the phone or in one of over 725 stores - whichever is most convenient for your friends and family.
- Your list is automatically updated as soon as a gift is bought - which minimises the chances of receiving duplicate gifts!
- After your special day we'll send you a list of who bought what - to help you write your thank-you cards.
Step 1 - Register
We're sorry, the Argos Giflt list service is closing in September 2012. Step 2 - Select your gift list
The really fun bit - browse the site and add items straight to your list, or if you like flicking through the catalogue then just make a list of catalogue numbers to enter. It's always so nice when someone else is buying the gifts!
As soon as you submit your list online it is available to view almost immediately - it's that easy! (If you prefer to send your list in by post it will take a few days to be processed.)
Step 3 - Tell friends & family
Once you have set up your list you just need to tell friends & family your unique list reference number. When setting up a wedding list you can request wedding guest cards which will show your gift list reference number, and are designed to include in your wedding invitations. When deciding how many to ask for include everyone invited to your wedding but don't forget you only need one card per couple.
Step 4 - View and amend your list
If you set up your gift list online, you can keep an eye on what's been bought, and by who, simply by logging on to the Argos site - using your unique log on and password. You can also add new items or delete anything that hasn't been bought yet. It's all very easy and exciting!
If you set up your list by post you can still view what is left on your list, but for security reasons you will not be able to make any changes online.
Buying from a list
Friends and family can view your list, and decide what to buy, online or at any Argos store. Items can be purchased online, over the phone or in one of over 725 stores - and your list will be instantly updated. Please note that friends & family need to quote your reference number to ensure that gifts are taken off your list.
If gifts are bought in store, your friends and family take the item away to gift-wrap and then hand over to you in person.
If buying online or by telephone then most items are usually delivered in 2 working days, items which take longer are marked on your list - to avoid any late panics! Gifts can be delivered to any address - but someone may need to sign for the delivery.
Please note the prices shown on your list will be the current selling price, so they may change from time to time. When buying from a gift list the price charged will be the price which is live in our stores on the day the item is bought. Delivery is only available to mainland UK and Northern Ireland.
