- Super Oval Design and Dual Analog Sticks - PS Vita adopts the Super Oval Design form, created to fit comfortably in users' hands. For the first time, a portable entertainment system will feature two analog sticks, which enable a wider range of genres to be brought into the world of portable videogaming.
- Near - New location-based services on PS Vita, called 'Near', will be pre-installed on the system to let users find out what games their friends in the vicinity are playing. Users can meet their friends and new players virtually, regardless of what games they are playing, simply by sharing game information across the dimensions of time and distance.
- PS Vita will also come equipped with two cameras, one on the front and one on the rear of the system, as well as three motion sensors, gyroscope, accelerometer and electronic compass, all of which are designed to enable users to enjoy a world of entertainment that is linked with real life experiences.

"After mulling over the purchase of the PS Vita for a few weeks, I decided to take the plunge and go for it. Argos had the best deal at the time so I reserved online and collects the next day.
To keep things brief, the Vita is simply the best handheld device ever created and I have had them all!
The screen is beautiful, the front and rear touch controls are amazing and the twin analog sticks are a god send. This is certainly aimed at those with a certain degree of disposable income and to be honest, I would not recommend it for children unless they are responsible enough to take care of it properly because it really is a top end piece of tech. Well done Sony!!"
