Good recorder, good value

"I bought this to replace my old Olympus VN-3100PC. I wanted a longer recording time (old one was under 6 hours) and better sound quality.
It does everything I want.
The quality is more than good enough for good voice recordings etc.
The 2GB capacity means that it will record for over 22 hours at the maximum quality (192kHz MP3). It will also record at 128kHz, 48kHz and 8kHz if you want longer recording times. However, I want the best quality, so I've not tried the lower settings.
There is a "scene" button to set everything up for a particular purpose, e.g. lecture recording. This makes it quick and easy to use. But you can then override various settings if you like, e.g. how sensitive the microphone is. This gives you more flexibility and control, if you need it."

"Brilliant machine!
The best one I've had for a long time and at such a cheap price. Love the voice activation mode, (this actually caught out my neighbours anti-social behaviour at last and the Police accpeted it as evidence...recorded a whole 8 hours of night time into a 7 minute recording), easy to use and great that you download the recordings simply to your pc and it can use a memory card....
Best on the market for such an amazingly cheap price!"
