"The active noise-cancelling on a aeroplane really does work.
The passive noise-cancelling (In the form of the silicone earbuds) also works very well.
Sound quality is okay."

Great Sound Quality

"I was not expecting much for the price, however these headphones really deliver.
The sound quality is excellent with deep bass, although the maximum volume it not very high compared to other headphones I own. That said, the volume is perfectly adequate given the exellent sound isolation and noise reduction.
The noise cancellation is of course battery operated. It the battery runs dry, you can turn off the noise cancellation and keep using the headphones as normal. The headphones themselves offer very good noise isolation even when not powered, thanks to their in-ear design. The active noise cancellation works very well. The estimate from Phillips of 75% seems to be an accurate description. The noise cancellation mostly works with low frequency rumbling noise, so it is great for airplane, train or car noise. It will not really do much for speech.
Overall very satisfied with my purchase and excellent for what needed - use on train + plane. It was astonishing what a difference the headphones made on the train, and using them I managed to sleep on my long haul flight for the first time!"

"These earphones do a reasonable amount of noise-cancellation, so are useful for plane flights. They're a lot more affordable than top-end Bose offerings, and are also a lot more compact for travelling with (and you also look less stupid wearing them!).
I recommend them. For the money, the best deal out there."

"I bought these in ear noise cancelling headphones to use on the plane as they are intended. The noise cancellation makes no difference whatsoever on a plane, or anywhere else for that matter. Waste of money, just buy regular in ear headphones, they are the same."
