"The fat doesn't get hot enough for nice crispy chips, like my old cheap deep fat fryer, I am so disappointed."

"easy to clean but one of the elements went on it the second time I used it and the reset button did not work so I was left having to use just the one basket. it also seems rather silly to me to supply lids with vents and then to say they are to be used as dust covers only, why the vents? My old Swan double fryer had lids with filters to minimise the smell and worked fine so I have been online looking for another Swan."

"I had the single bowl earlier version of this unit and liked it's simplicity. It is easy to take apart and all but the element unit can go into a dishwasher. The earlier one was binned because the bowl present interlock switch became very intermittent. The new double bowl unit has smaller bowls which is more economic for just two in a household. It also means that one bowl can be kept with clean oil (chips etc) and the other for lower temperature items like breaded mushrooms and fish, which tend to shed bits. The interlock switch seems more robust on this one, but I see that they are still using silk screen markings on the thermostat. This will last about 4 weeks before it is rubbed off. Also, although the new lids are ventilated, why must they be removed for frying? This causes oil to splash up onto the control panel and damages the silk screen. I will reserve overall judgement."
