A good iron

"Bought this iron after my last one (Tefal) kept cutting out in the middle of ironing; as it was the 2nd Tefal I decided to have a change this time. Spent a long time looking at the ratings given, especially for the soleplate as my old Tefal had literally glided over the ironing. Have to say, despite it having a high rating, I don't find the soleplate is anywhere near as good as the Tefal was, especially when ironing tee-shirts it seems to catch on the material - hence the reason I have only given it 4 instead of 5 stars.
One area where it does score highly though is the steam output. Another plus is it's easy to fill with water and when you empty it at the end you manage to empty the tank completely, so you know you're not leaving any water sitting in it. Would probably go for Tefal again next time, simply because of the soleplate issue."

"Difficult to review as I bought this for a gift, recipiant seems very pleased, bought it because it switches itself off and the person it was for does has health problem that results in passing out suddenly, they were in fear of burning themselves, their child, dog or even the house.
I can review the order online and collect ~ excellent service, saves time especiallly around Christmas."

"Bought this iron as mine had given up the ghost. So far have found it very good and easy to use; love the digital temp and various settings on it. Glides across the clothes lovely."

"Iron is fine, bought a more expensive one for the auto shut off feature. The iron does not glide across fabric as smoothly as my last steel soleplate one, but the technique seems to be almost to hold the iron very lightly, no pressing down needed."

"An excellent iron. A nice weight, heavy enough to do the ironing without having to use any pressure just guidence. Easy to opperate, and is quick to heat up. I am dissapointed though with the cable, a stiff and thick cable that was about some fifty years ago. I would have thought that in this day and age of technology, a lighter and thiner one could have been used."
