"The product detail is a little misleading for this product as it doesn't appear to 'boost' your wireless range.. that is the more expensive N600. It works first time straight out of the box which is always pleasing. Use of the Netgear software or 'Standalone' driver isn't explained which leaves you wondering which one to use. The Netgear software basically includes it's own version of what you get with Windows.. the standalone driver uses the Windows software.
I also have a Netgear N150 which is supposed to give a maximum download of 150Mbps against that of the N300 (up to 300Mbps) but in practise, both give near identical speeds. The Netgear blurb states that the N300 can achieve simultaneous downloads, voice and music and is also suitable for gaming. The N150 can't do this apparently! Otherwise, in day to day use.. I can't see any advantage of one over the other. I'd recommend the N300 though in reality, the N150 attached to a pc 3 feet away from this one seems to work just as well and can be bought for around £10 less."

"Bought this adapter to replace similar Belkin model which was just plugged into the USB port of my desktop. This one works better, and the signal does not keep dropping out all the time, which was sending me round the bend! I have been able to use a spare USB socket at the back of the machine and the actual adapter sits up on the desk, so it is not in the way. That frees up the USB on the front of the machine, so it is a better arrangement all round. Now I can listen to the radio whilst working, and I don't have to keep reloading the page and/or resetting the router."

I did use the CD provided and the computor picked up the drivers required and it worked straight away, very fast and short time taken to complete regisration, it has double my down load speed too."
