Answer: 
The instruction book states when the backup battery requires replacing a low battery warning light will appear on the clock, the book states it takes a lithium battery type CR2032, I was unabe to open the section where this battery goes to check. Hope this helps.

Answer: 
The alarm button does not light up when set. All the buttons are solid. The best thing to do is hit the snooze button, which delays the alarm for approximately nine minutes.

The snooze button is so large that all you have to do is lean over and put your palm on top of the clock to operate it. The switch doesn't light up
