AMAZING TV ive always liked lg and try and keep lg to most things i buy ive never had a problem and the customer services are brill this tv is a very smart tv and will last me for years to come 08 July 2014
Brilliant TV I had the usual skepticism because it was my first TV and it was a big investment. I have to record here that it has been a great buy. I was concerned about the sound but I am happy with the performance. Great features and superb phone app. Synchronises absolutely great. One thing I noticed was the browser was very slow. That can be improved with the new models. Overall I am loving the TV and my friends love it too. We are a buch of 5 to 6 friends and we already purchased 3 tv's for us Would have loved it if LG gave a complimentry 3 year warranty :) Thanks 07 July 2014
Easy to use Great quality, easy to use, looks stylish. I have two lg TVs and really want a 3rd 07 July 2014

Also, does it have a zoom function so I can watch films broadcast in letterbox format at 16:9? My current TV has a 'Cinema' picture mode, but this stretches the picture horizontally, which distorts it, so I'm looking for a TV with a feature which zooms proportionately.

Answer:
The LG 42LN575V is a backlit LED TV screen.
This is generally considered to produce a better quality picture than a side lit LED.

I have not discovered a zoom control on mine.

Took me a week to discover how to delete an app I didn't want.
the interface is totally different to what it was when I first switched it on due to the TV receiving OTA/WIFI - 2 firmware updates, the last one dated 4th Jan 2014.

Answer:
You use the red, yellow and green plugs.
Alternatively you can buy a small cheap convertor to change these 3 leads to a scart style plug.

Answer:
There were 5 connectors on the LG42LN613V, confusingly 2 red, a yellow, a white and a black.
I used the wrong one originally the screen showed the Wii in black and white, but then chose the other red socket and all was ok

Answer:
Don't know about Logitech but I use my wireless keyboard and mouse-pad OK and a wireless mouse which worked OK the scroll-wheel zips through the menus but neither gave me full control.

I have ordered a "Magic Remote" - the only sensible way to get at everything on this TV which has a very large and comprehensive user interface.

Otherwise, with the standard remote you will definitely get RSA in your thumbs and you won't be able to use voice commands or screen-draw commands either.

No you do not need an ethernet cable, the TV will connect wirelessly, but an ethernet cable (if possible) is one less thing to drop connection

Answer:
Yes you will receive the regular remote control however some features like the internet browser and navigating through certain apps work better with the Magic remote. The Magic remote essentially works like a mouse on your PC.

In my opinion LG should of included this Magic remote with the TV buying it separately is expensive.

Fortunately the TV works well with standard wireless mouse and keyboard at fraction of the cost.

The LG 42LN575V TV does not have Bluetooth support so you can only use the LG - NB2530A Soundbar with a digital optical cable connection and the limitations that imposes.
