40" Hitachi TV Saw this in Dec sale and couldn't believe the price. Bought a wall bracket and as it is so thin bought right-angle aerial and hdmi adapters for just a few pounds and fixed it to wall. Looks so sleek against wall with very small border around screen. Picture is excellent and set up easy. Can't think how this could be beaten! 14 January 2014
Excellent puchase I bought this as a present for some friends of mine and they are absolutely delighted with it. The picture quality is excellent, as is the sound quality. They used it for the first time on Christmas Day and said they have never watched so much television! 14 January 2014
A good quality picture but sound quality slightly tinny. Very good value for money. 14 January 2014

Answer:
It may well be assembled by the company you mention, however the components are made by Hitachi, and LG supply the HD panels.
It will be fully retail boxed & branded "Hitachi" along with a 1year guarantee, with the option of adding another 2 years at "Point of Sale"

Do the HDMI sockets on this TV support CEC.
i.e. can the tv control the sound from a soundbar using the TV's remote through the HDMI socket?

Answer:
I would say No the HDMI sockect will not support your soundbar, in the way you want it to, as the CEC "Consumer Electronics Control" function was originally designed to automatically change the input display when the power button is pressed, and control the volume on Bluray players, PVR's etc. Without the need for the TV's remote.
However should the Sounbar also be Hitachi, like. Panasonic's Viera link, LG's Simplink etc.. it may be recognised.

Answer:
Yes it more than likely you will pick up free to air digital channels, with an older external analogue aerial. And may struggle with HD broadcasts

However a digital aerial is recommended for "freeview" service,

Answer:
Yes if its a standard 3 Pin connection, similar to desktop computers, TVs etc...

I don't see any reason why not, as tv power cables are (@tv end) generic in EU.

Answer:
There could be a couple reasons. For one, nobody has bothered to review this particular item, although I do see one person has given it a 5 star rating. Another reason would be, they've just purchased it and feel they want to get the feel of this T.V./give it some time before posting a review. I hope this helps.

Answer:
There could be a few reasons!

1: Nobody has acually wrote a review.

2: Some folk who bought it are happy watching it, and are under no obligation to write a review.

3: Argos "webmasters" are still reviewing any that have been written ,to make sure they don't include any links to 3rd party websites or sensitive personal details, prior to publishing it on a National companies website.
