40" Hitachi TV Saw this in Dec sale and couldn't believe the price. Bought a wall bracket and as it is so thin bought right-angle aerial and hdmi adapters for just a few pounds and fixed it to wall. Looks so sleek against wall with very small border around screen. Picture is excellent and set up easy. Can't think how this could be beaten! 14 January 2014
Excellent puchase I bought this as a present for some friends of mine and they are absolutely delighted with it. The picture quality is excellent, as is the sound quality. They used it for the first time on Christmas Day and said they have never watched so much television! 14 January 2014
A good quality picture but sound quality slightly tinny. Very good value for money. 14 January 2014

Answer:
What has been mentioned here is non sense, the TV has a Freeview tuner (I have this set).

According to what I have read the tuner is an SD one, but if that is true or not I do not know.

The description on the Argos site does not match many of the details in the instruction booklet that comes with this TV.

Answer:
Hi,

I can't give details of exact specifications when using external equipment, as it depends on the type of connection you use, only that the Hitachi 40 Inch Full HD LED TV is full HD 1080p, with a motion rate of 50Hz and response time of 10 milliseconds. Also, the picture can be viewed at a Viewing angle of 178/178 degrees.

Answer:
The manual says to use the code 065 but this was not working for our remote (maybe due to age/type of remote) as it seemed to want 4 digits. So we tried 0065 which worked!

Answer:
After some research, it appears that the chances on you migrate to somewhere that broadcasts in NTSC/SECAM are slim. I.e. Botswana,Georgia,Mongolia, and other poor countries around the world.

Answer:
I would say this TV had the 1967 PAL "broadcast standard' in mind considering its primary use is in the EU.
However PAL (Perfection at Last '67) NTSC (Never Twice the Same Color '54) and less known SECAM (SEcond Color Always Magenta '54) are broadcast delivery methods, so if the country you go to broadcasts in SECAM/NTSC if you have the appropriate receiver with an HDMI out I see no reason why this won't work.
Also if you have video/DVD footage records in this format you'll need the appropiate player to read it.
All 3 have a different Number of horizontal & vertical lines, and this tv has 1920x1080 lines to use.

Hope this helps
