Toshiba RDXV60KB Freeview+ 320GB HD TV DVD and VCR Recorder. 4.5 5 42 42
Toshiba DVD VHS Hard Disk Recorder Ideal mix of features allowing for temporary or permanent copying of your favourite recordings. The manual is comprehensive although a specific feature is not always that easy to locate. Everything is there however, backed up by Argos's online help. It includes all the possible things you'd need to copy and protect recordings: DVD or VHS to hard disk and vice versa. Freeview to any of the above. The HD feature is easy to use Great device all in all! 25 February 2015
Expensive bit of kit but worth every penny dose everything bar make tea 10 February 2015
Had to return first, would not tape on HDD, Argos replaced and the new one is fine, very good picture with HDMI, and I found easy to set up. Good to be able to get a machine to tape from VHS/DVD as I have a lot of precious tapes. Programming is easy. Just what I wanted. 03 February 2015
Just what I was looking for..... I can't comment on the machine as a whole as I bought it purely to play dvds and, more specifically, my old videos.Don't need the hdd part. Just really pleased to find a vcr player. They are an endangered species nowadays..... threw my old one out years ago. So thanks to Argos for still stocking them. From my point of view a great buy! 22 January 2015
Not for the faint hearted! I bought this product to allow me to transfer analogue video recordings to DVD. It has allowed me to do that and produce a high quality result. The most impressive feature is the sound quality. You do need to read the manual in detail and you do need to be prepared to experiment a little. I was a little disappointed I couldn't plug the video camera directly into the player directly but achieved this by use of a SCART adapter I had. Good to be able to connect to the TV via HDMI. I like it! 14 January 2015

I have an older version of this product, and the DVD mechanism has jammed so I cannot play DVDs. Can I attach a separate DVD player via the second scart socket (normally used for a satellite receiver) to play DVDs as my TV does not have a spare scart socket to connect directly?

Answer:
I would have thought it would be simpler to buy a scart extension lead, thus multiplying the amount of scart sockets you have on your tv ?

Thanks for using Q and A -

Sorry we have confused you -
Yes, the Toshiba RDXV60KB 320GB Freeview+ DVD VCR Recorder Combi HDD does indeed allow you to record one programme while watching another.

I hope this helps.

Have previously (about 3 years ago) been caught out by a Sony recorder - all recordings had to go via the Hard Drive first, so to get a recording onto DVD from external device had to be recorded twice (waste of time). I took it back. Want to check won't have the same problem with this first.

Thanks

Answer:
Hi there,

I have been in touch with the supplier and received the following response:

An incoming video feed via scart can be recorded directly onto a DVD, provided there are no copy protection markers on the incoming signal.
If those are present it won?t record to the HDD, or DVD, but provided there are none it should happily dub to any recording space.
It is usually more convenient to dub things via the HDD in case any edit is needed.

I hope this helps,
