"me daughter wanted this item for her 8'th birthday. only played couple of times with it. The hexbug that gets supplied with it keeps coming out and off the starter base. Need to obviously buy more of the play set for it to stay in there. She loves how it glows in the dark though and sees it skitters around. The hex bug is about 1 1/2 inches long. The starter base you get is about 9 1/4 inch long by 6 inch wide. Me 5 year old son plays with it more but just for short time."
