The only downside is that the ink cartridges are fairly expensive, well worth it though for the quality.

"This worked well straight from the box. I did however have to get a 64bit driver from Epson online. No problem though. Its quick reasonably quiet and the scanning facility is brilliant. Excellent value for money."

"I bought this to replace a 10+ year old Epson Photo Stylus 870 that finally lay down. Its no match for the Photo Stylus - but it was about 40% of the price. I had difficulty loading it from the disc, it failed several times before finally loading - Epson helpline suggested my windows was the problem - perhaps? It then loaded easily and quickly automatically when I plugged it into my PC. It also set up quickly and easily on my daughters Mac. Its not as fast as my Photo Stylus and the speeds quoted are way faster than it is delivering (whats new) but with a little patience it delivers a good quality print. The ink cartridges supplied didn't last long - but the really good news is that it accepted cheap compatibles I bought off the internet with no obvious reduction in print quality - running cost for me is at least as big a factor as purchase price. In summary -I had a bit of difficulty with set up (printer or PC or windows problem??) print speed is nothing exciting but OK. Print Quality is good and it accepts cheap compatibles - all-in-all, fine for the money for home use - I would recommend this printer if the specification meets your needs - I couldn't find anything better at the price"
