"As this item was quite cheap it is ok for the purpose it was purchased for. However in hindsight it would have been better to spend a little more money and get something I really liked."

Disappointing

"I purchased this item based on some of the other reviews and the good price but was sadly disappointed for the following reasons:
1) the unit is very light and the buttons quite stiff and small which means that when you wake up, bleary eyed and heavy handed you end up either pressing the wrong button or pressing the right button so hard that the unit rolls over!
2) Sound quality not great, when I dock my iPhone I get better quality out of the phone itself
3) I couldn't work out how to set the radio alarm volume (not clear in instructions) so for the first two mornings was given the fright of my life when the radio came blaring out next to my head.
4) When the radio is on it doesn't show the time, which isn't very helpful when you're trying to get ready in the morning!

I've reverted to docking my iPhone to charge it overnight and now just use the alarm on the phone instead. I would take it back but I think I'll just carry on using it as I am and then replace it in a few months. I previously had a Sony ICF-C1IPMK2 which I wish I had bought again as it was much better.
Good points are that the unit is small and a neat shape which looks nice on my dressing table."
