"Our previous Breville filter kettle provided us with great service. The filtered water is a great boon removing the chlorine from the tap water and improving the taste. The only bugbear is the reduction in capacity from the previous one from 1.5ltr to 1ltr. Otherwise nice looking and very quick in boiling an excellent product"

Wash it out thoroughly!

"This is now working nicely, but it's taken two weeks.... It looks great, and filters my awful water nicely. However, it took a long time to get rid of the plasticy smell, despite giving it a quick wash before use. I'd suggest that you wash it several times with hot soapy water and a cloth of washing up brush on the inside before use, and probably again after boiling it a couple of times. Now that the plasticy smell has gone (and tea tastes nice again!) I'm very happy with it."

"This kettle is very quiet & quick to boil once the water has filtered through.
After 2 & a bit weeks still getting a plastic taste in hot drinks occassionally.
Probably will stick with it for a while longer and if it doesnt improve will change back to a metal kettle."
