About this product
This extending washing line prop is a simple, practical way to support your outdoor line and make the most of natural drying. It lifts the line up so clothes hang freely and catch the breeze, keeping everything fresh and helping you avoid the tumble dryer. The prop extends up to 2.4m high, so you can adjust it to suit your line and the weight of your load, whether it's a light batch of shirts or heavier towels and bedding.
The polypropylene hook and adjuster keep the line secure and steady, so it doesn't slip or sag when you're pegging things out. It's straightforward to set up and use, and it holds the line at just the right height. Made to last through regular outdoor use, it comes with a one-year guarantee. Just the kind of sensible garden helper that quietly makes laundry day a bit easier.
- Size H125, W2, D2cm.
- Manufacturer's 1 year guarantee.

Sturdy, can extend really far, recommend
I bought three of these about three months ago as i have a very long washing line and they all work great. Nice and sturdy, good grip, can extend really far if you need. I’ve left mine outside in the garden between uses and they’re totally fine

Hi Westlake 117
Argos Home Outdoor Extending Line Prop:
The prop should be placed just before the true vertical. Gravity and the weight of the clothes will hold the prop.

Hello Elsie,
The supplier has advised the following for the Outdoor Extending Line Prop:
"This is a line prop and is not designed to work in concrete."
However, they do suggest that you may wish to check out the Dri 30m Washing Line & Post, cat no: 850/1415, as that can be set into concrete. For more info, please check out this link:

Hi Chanz,
The Better Home Outdoor Extending Line Prop does not inlcude a spike to insert it in to the ground. Most props are not intended to insert into the ground but to hold the washing line high when the line is in use.
Thank you for using Argos Q&A.
Hi,
After looking into this for you I can see that the size of this pole before extension is 1.4m
Thank you for using Argos Q&A
Mine isn't sturdy and keeps collapsing.
Hi,
The feedback from customers suggest that this item is strong enough for the job, and it has a 12 month guarantee which should give enough time for you to test it.
Thank you for using Argos Q&A.
So far no problems - if weight is an issue would use 2 per line anyway. But construction seems solid and better build quality than last set we had which lasted years
Hi,
This Outdoor Extending Washing Line Prop is made of plastic.
