"I purchased this for my 84 year old mother, who suffers from arthritis in her hands, after she found that she got on with our Magican opener (which is over 15 years old).
As with other reviewers, I found that the new one is inferior. It is smaller and flimsier than ours and the handle rotation is not as smooth an action. No doubt due to cost cutting. Having said that, my mother still finds it preferable to the old-fashion type - the action is positive, once the handles click together it holds the tin lid and she doesn't find the cut edges to be sharp.
Overall we're pleased with it, although I doubt it will last 15 years."
