"As described, the Optima double-life sounds a very good buy - until you get it and read the instructions. They say that their single-life filter is a better buy for hard-water areas. This should be made clear in their description so that you know BEFORE you buy and open a year's supply. Otherwise, it works well and is reasonably fast. (Living in a hard-water area, I would recommend the single-life, not the double-life cartridges.)"
