Great all rounder.
This is a good looking, old style set of scales, that appear to be accurate. No batteries required so cost nothing in the future. They appear robust with different scales, some of which maybe a little too small to comfortably read by all.

The instructions for use of the Salter Mechanical Bathroom Scales - Black state that the scales should be used on a firm, flat surface. On balance, we would say that use on carpets is not suitable however the only way to compare would be to try them out on a hard floor and then the carpet (as carpets can be variable), to see if the weights were comparable.
