Challenge 8 Amp 12V Automatic Car Battery Charger. 4.6 5 50 61
Challenge Battery Charger I bought this charger after reading reviews and my husbands Lidel charger slector button packed up when he whent to charge his motorcycle battery. Seems to work fine as it also has the added choice of sealed battery as well as the normal one on the slection panel. Not a bad price as the Rac one i looked at was much dearer and did not have both settings. 01 April 2014
Challenge Automatic Charger. 8amp 12v car battery charger is a neat, simple to use, item appropriate for a variety of 12v batteries. It operates as described and reasonable value for money. One point to note is, it can NOT be used as a 12volt supply, and is only usable for charging batteries. 19 March 2014
Exactly what I was looking for. Easy to use Charges battery quickly 16 July 2013
Nothing special but works Alternator failed on the car and bought this to replace another challenge charger that never worked properly, this one was fine though, and charged a completely dead battery in 6 hrs. 01 May 2013
Pleased with purcase. 6 month old car battery absolutely flat after standing idle for 7 weeks in freezing weather.Took 12 hours to fully charge but pleased with purchase.Did what it sad on the tin.Would have liked a 'charge condition' light but for what I needed it for it was fine. 09 April 2013

Answer:
Car handbooks recommend you disconnect battery from vehicle. However, I have charged car batteries, and boat batteries in place for years, and never had any problems.

Answer:
Hello,

It could indeed be left in maintenance mode, but there is a limit on how long this can be done for. I recommend contacting a specialist for advice on leaving the charger on trickle charge.

Have a good day.
