effective; but a little awkward

"Good cutter, even for quite thick branches (up to about 1cm). Only problem is that it can't be operated by one hand; this means that one's reach is shorter than it would be using only one hand. No doubt this is a safety feature; but I was used to being able to stretch over the top of a hedge using one hand. The wordless instructions provided useful guidance on the best way to cut a hedge to produce a uniform effect (ie sweeping upward in a 90 degree arc)."

"This was purchased after I found my elderly husband exhausted after trying to cut our hedge with shears. It was a very good choice because not only is it lightweight but not to big. It is small enough that even I can use it - trouble is this now probably means that cutting the hedge will be yet another job I will end up having to do."

"This is a great product for the price,I work as a gardener and use it all the time, it gets through most hedges and shrubbery without any problems and its weight means your arms don't suffer when used for long periods of time. The only down point is the length of the blade but apart from that another great product from Bosch."

"needed to replace old hedge trimmer & decided to go with this one as it was an excellent price for a Bosch. Lightweight enough, as I have back problem, so have always found petrol ones too heavy.
Just need the time now to trim the hedges!"

"Previously had Bosch hedge trimmer with longer blade which my son is still using.
Found 54-16 model lighter which is easier for me to use than the one with the longer blade. Have trimmed considerable amouint of hedges front and back of the garden with no trouble."
