"I have used a Flymo Trimmer Duel Feed for many years, with no problems.
The last one was 5 years old before it finally stopped working.
I thought I would just purchase an exact model to the one I had for so long a time. But they had stopped that model (Flymo Contour).
I carried out a bit of research as to what to buy and settled on this particular model(even though some of the reports on line were a bit frightening).
Its been great so far, very heavy so be careful if you find lifting things a bit of a problem.
The cord does not get tangled, but will if you only use it in stops and starts.
The edge trimmer is great and the guard does its job and protects you from flying objects.
Overall pretty good in the time scale I have been using it for."

"Having got through quite a few grass trimmers in my time, I wanted to ensure I bought one with a decent number of features and proper service back-up for spares and repairs. This is well-designed and suitable for the average garden (if you need one for tougher garden work, you're probably better going for something like the 600w version using 2mm line, although it's cutting diameter is virtually the same). Noise levels are low compared to a lot of strimmers and it's relatively light to hold. Unlike some telescopic strimmer handles, on this model the handle will stay tightly locked.
It's also easy to assemble and to maintain: it's easier to re-feed broken strimmer line than on many models, although you've got to anticipate that the line will break off inside the housing occasionally with this line feed system. It is compact to store, with useful on-board hooks to wind the cable onto. Three operating positions (plus an edging facility) are quite enough to deal with grass, under shrubs and obstacles, etc.
Disadvantages (both minor):
1) if you use it continuously for a while, keeping your hand on the 'on' switch tends to make the tendons in your lower arm ache a bit, so the design here could be more ergonomic;
2) plant guard is a good idea, but it's a bit too flimsy and doesn't always stay put.
Overall, as light(-ish) electric strimmers go, this is very good design and value."

"very easy assembly and useful adjustment for length. This unit is on the margin of needing a shoulder strap rather than just hand held and could be too heavy for an older or frail user.
does the job very well and self trimming cord works well.

"I have only had the chance to use the grass trimmer once as the weather has done nothing but rain since I bought it. I found it did an excellent job and was a good replacement for my last Flymo Trimmer, which has had it's day."
