"this made pruning our apple tree so much easier we wish we'd bought it years ago, seriously you won't regret it. It might only be used once a year but its definitely worth it. Threading the pole through the branches has been described as a hassle by other reviewers of this product but let me assure you its 100 times easier than trying to thread an extendable ladder through the branches so if you want to do a proper job of your pruning and reach those top branches, you need to get this. The mechanism is really strong and so well designed that it minimises any damage to other shoots because the lopping blade isn't exposed until you engage the mechanism and start cutting. One tip...leave the saw blade off if you only have small to medium branches to take off, it makes the whole thing more manouvrable."

"This pruner has a lovely long reach and the cutter itself quickly lops the branches. Have also used the saw attachment but, like another reviewer, found the blade unstable in use as was unable to sufficient tighten the wing nuts. I also lost one wing nut on the pruner's first use so would also confirm that there appears to be a design fault with the nuts and an alternative should be found. Overall, pleased with the pruner."

"i was surprised how, not very good, this was being a spear and jackson. dont may them like they used to.
the saw is sharp, but the wing nut runs out of thread, so wont do up tight. the saw is about 2mm thick, so very bendy.
the rope.. he writes smiling..string, would be a better description.. snapped after 5 mins of use.. ok, i suppose for very thin twigs.
i will be taking mine back."
