I wanted a new hose reel and I wanted it to be wall mounted. This one was just long enough and looks fine. The hose itself is ok, all feels a bit plasticky, but hopefully will be durable. I thought it was a reasonable price when compared with others. I thought the mounting was a bit strange, but seems to work and you can remove the unit it needed (e.g the winter months). Hopefully it will get some use before Kent runs out of water and we have another hosepipe ban.

An apparently reliable hosepipe.
The hose does what I expected. I've only had it a few weeks - so far so good. Seems to be durable and the spray is strong even when fully extended. Winding it up into the box was tricky at first, but not too bad when I apply a bit of care as I wind it up. Have to ensure it does not jam.

Don't purchase if you think it comes assembled.
I bought hose recently and found it wasn't ready to use. To install it was extremely difficult, I was unbale to assemble it as it came in so many parts and very complicated to understand assembly.. I had to have assistance from a friend and it took him 2 hours to assemble. I would not recommend it to anyone who was not a genius. It comes in so many parts, disgusting. I believed it was already assembled.

DIsappointed - poor quality
Having had years of use of use of a Hozelock auto-reel - it finally would no longer auto - rewind and I could not make it manual re-wind - so I had to change it. I just couldn't afford the huge expense of the new auto-reel and opted instead for a manual one. The instructions for assembly were not great - but I did manage it, While the wall mounting is easy to fit and the reel can easily be taking in and out of the mounting - the rest of the kit feels very cheap and not really up to the job. The winding of a very stiff and coiled hose back onto the reel after removing the rolled up hose for assembly was incredibly hard work. Pulling it out also is difficuly - the guide on the front does not travel back and forth guiding the hose at all - and you need 2 people to try and manage the rewind because of that - not possible when I live on my own! It certainly has not gotten any easier in the month of use. I am regretting my purchase even at half the price of the auto rewind. I wonder if the quality has these products have been seriously affected by rising costs of manufacturing and if I had been able to stretch to the auto-reel whether I would have seen the performance I enjoyed for almost 10 years with the auto-reel version?

Great item you only need to drill 4 holes to attach to the wall. would be better if it had a template for positioning where to drill the holes.It can be lifted out to use elsewhere, It would be better if it was already assembled if you are not competent at putting things together. You have a choice of which side to put the handle what is a good design. A bit expensive i think you should get 30m for the price not 25m but i suppose 25m would be long enough for most people. i bought for gift for mother-in-law but they do last a long time i’ve been using the same one for over 6 years. overall very good quality product.

Hose Reel
This products replaces a Hozelock reel that was about 12 years. During that time the quality of the product has reduced - 2012 version can with reenforced hose and much thicker case. We'll see if this one lasts as long.

I have checked, you will be able to change the hose on the Hozelock Compact Enclosed 2 In 1 Hose Reel - 25m. This would have to be with the same size hose you would not be able to fit a larger hose.
