Loft ladder Really good ladder for the money. Easy to follow instructions and comes with loft hatch conversion kit which was easy to install. 18 February 2014
good light weight ladder i could not fit the ladder, as my loft door opens upwards, but the ladder is handy to use as a normal ladder to get into the loft, and is small enough to store under the bed, so it is always there when you need it, 11 January 2014
great product for the price really easy to set up and use yes would buy product again x 10 January 2014
Does the job. Does what it says on the tin! Loft ladder! Easy to fit. On a down side it's stiff to push up and down needed wd40 and lots of it ! 10 September 2013

I have a 2 tier garage (the upper tier being used for storage) and would like to use the ladder for access to that upper area - do you advise that the ladder is not suitable for that purpose? Also, as a loft ladder, is it not being used as a 'free standing ladder'? You talk about it being 'attached' to the floor of the loft - it is not apparent how this is achieved, but is this the feature that categorizes it as not being 'free standing'?

Answer:
Hi, thank you for your question.

The Abru 2 Section Loft Ladder needs to be fixed to the opening of the loft. If it is not fixed then it would be free standing, which is not recommended for this ladder. The installation instructions are located within the product images at the top of this page, it may be helpful to you to read through this to gain a better understanding of how the ladder is to be fixed to the opening of the loft.

Thanks for using Argos Q&A.
