We found it hard to assemble

"My friend and I, both in our 60's, found the Costa Rica Futon difficult to assemble as the screws were fiddly and we were unable to put the tension brackets in place and also tighten the screws at the same time.
We have made it up without the tension brackets which makes me feel that it will not hold much weight for very long at all.
I hope to get someone younger to dismantle it and put the tension brackets in place some time in the near future, but this of course defeats the purpose of being self sufficient in assembling the Futon!"

Don't recommend!

"Mattress is very poor quality -it's very thin, not comfortable to sit, and it slips from the frame! Had to buy another mattress for another 60 pounds, and it's still not to comfy! Bed is still ok, only mattress is very bad. Definitely do not recommend for everyday use, and only with additional mattress."

"The futon lives up to the old adage you get what you pay for. As an inexpensive piece of furniture it fits the bill. The construction was easy and it serves the purpose for which it was bought, the mattress could be a little thicker and the metal base a little more robust but it is reasonably comfortable to sit on and sleep on"
