Reasonable Budget Scope for beginners only

"I would buy again. The focusing ring is a bit stiff, and is quite cheaply made. The lenses supplied move about in the socket, which does not occur in a well made telescope. I had read reviews warning about these points, but the telescope was reasonable for the money.
Pro: It has a sturdy tripod, a strong case and a reasonable instruction guide. Plus it comes with a poster of a star map.
Con: Focusing ring is like a badly made mincemeat grinder. It is made of plastic trying to look like shiny metal. The whole focusing and eyepieces will move around half a centimetre which makes it even more difficult to find what you are looking for. Eyepieces are better if replaced. I'm not experienced enough to know if the zoom is as stated, but I've seen two sources that say that National Geographic telescopes do not live up to the stated zoom level."

"ITS OK BUT CANT GET OTHER PARTS FOR IT I NEED A NG76AZ THREE PIECE EYEPIECES IF YOU NO WHERE TO GET ONE WILL YOU LET ME NO IF NOT I WILL HAVE TO BRING THE ITEM BACK"

"Bought this as a first time telescope (didn't want to spend ££££). Had to wait a few nights till we could use it.
Builds easily if you use a bit of common sense. Found that some movable areas of the scope have alot of slack/play in them which does make for tricky alignment and fine movements but easily rectified (though I shouldn't have too).
Read up on "collimating a newtonian telescope" as it was way out and the instructions are little confusing. Good tip of the web was to insert white card down the tube and block the other mirror to make things clearer, which really helped me, as everything is black.
Seen some good views of the moon, rings of Saturn and moons of Jupiter so far.
Also doesn't use standard size eyepieces."

"couple of things to look out for. The brackets on the legs face inward, and the tray goes over the top of each of the three brackets.The hole in the azimuth bracket will not line up, just put the long silver rod into the bottom bracket, (telescope pointing upwards) and just twist it till it lines up with the top bracket.
Setting the scope to line up with the telescope is a bit of a challange, patience is a virtue with this bit of the setting up. You must use the 20mm eye piece, Otherwise you have no chance of doing the above.
Once you have everything set up, you do not have to do this again. TG.
Every time you want to locate a star or whatever always start with the 20mm, Then simply change to a higher mag eyepiece.
Views are fantastic, and a I am really pleased with the performance. Just remember practice makes perfect. You have to spend a couple of hours at first, just to get the hang of how to really use the telescope.
