"The Lumix TZ18 is a big zoom - and I mean BIG zoom - 40 x, no nonsense camera. 16x optical and the rest produced with some very clever software, plus the usual 'digi zoom' cropped image effect. The result of all this produces remarkably sharp, well stabilised, luscious A4 size images. The TZ 18 also facilitates HD movies with excellent image stabilisation up to 20x zoom 'the max allowed for movie'. Image quality is second to none in it's class, and the TZ18 is built to last; and actually fits quite comfortably in your trouser pocket. In the 'big zoom' HD movie advance compact digi camera range, this is the one to beat."

"Its a ok point and shoot camera. Can be a bit tricky to get good quality pictures in certain situations but i have found it can take clear pictures in good conditions."

"After a lot of research and reading of reviews I decided to choose the TZ18. This camera is the best camera I have owned. The zoom lens enhances the portrait mode, blurring the background for a professional quality picture, as well as capturing detail in the distance with clarity when the zoom is fully extended. The many features, including aperture and shutter priority, intelligent auto, auto modes or customizable mode mean this camera has everything you need from a compact. The response time from pressing the shutter is instant, with a fast auto focus meaning we don't miss the perfect photo with our fast moving daughter!! Very happy with the purchase."

"Bought this camera to replace my Lumix TZ8 that was stolen. Same excellent features and improved wide-angle, larger screen and 16X telephoto. Not smallest or lightest for carrying in pocket but features and versatility outweigh this slight disadvantage."
