Disappointed They item was bought for our granddaughter .tuning in was an issue, grandad ended up breaking the key before she had actually played it 16 June 2015
### FANTASTIC GIFT#### Bought it for my 10yrdaughter it is quiet big for her, but she loves it the sounds are amazing and the stay in tune for quiet a while. 27 May 2015
Ideal for 1st guitar I purchased this for my 11 year old granddaughter as she wanted to learn to play. It was just the right size and has good tone and acoustics. It was a great buy for the price and the lessons you can download are excellent. 22 April 2015
Good learner's guitar Bought for my tall 7 year-old to learn, size is ok for her. Would be better if could attach strap to it, but fine for a learner and at this price not complaining. 21 April 2015
Great for beginners We purchased this guitar as a Christmas present for our daughter. She has had a few lessons at school and wanted to take this up as a hobby. Thankfully she knows how to tune a guitar etc and was over the moon with this gift. It is ideal for teaching yourself the basics and for extended practice outside of lessons. She rarely puts it down. Very happy. 21 April 2015

Answer:
Any Nylon Strung guitar should ONLY ever have NYLON STRINGs. Metal strings have a higher tension and will not only bend the neck, but also raise the soundboard which will make the guitar impossible to play.

Please also note that NYLON STRINGS are harder to keep in tune (in contrast with steel strings) but this does not make it a bad instrument. If you move the guitar from one room to another colder or hotter room, the guitar will go out of tune. This is to be expected and is natural. Same if you take it to another house - even in a bag, the guitar will get cold or hot and can take at least an hour before it stays almost in tune. Concert guitarist tune their guitars even during performance. Tuning is a great thing to master and get used to. Buy a tuner, they are so cheap now.

Answer:
Hello, thank you for your question regarding the Elevation ¾ Size Natural Acoustic Guitar.

Having spoken to the supplier regarding your query, I can confirm it is not advised to change the strings to steel ones. This is due to the tension you would need to get on the steel strings, which may potentially bend the neck of the guitar.

Thank you for using Argos Q&A.
